The most developed of Honduras' Bay Islands, Roatan, is located south of Belize. Cruise ships that head towards this island either dock at the capital of Coxen Hole or Mahogany Bay. Like other parts of the Caribbean, you can witness a welcoming culture and a history like no other. You can spend time at beaches; or, there are options to book a tour to experience the historical side of Roatan. Another beautiful way to see this island is to take a boat to explore the wild mangroves.
Progreso is one of the most famous places in the Caribbean and is located about 30 miles from Merida north of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. A comparatively new port, it offers fantastic shore excursions. Visitors can explore famous archaeological sites such as Dzibilchaltun, Chichen Itza or Uxmal. You can enjoy activities including paddle boarding, cave snorkelling, golfing, fishing, hiking, or riding in a beach buggy.
Belize City is the largest city in Belize and provides excellent shore excursions, such as zip-lining over a jungle or tubing in a river inside a cave. Besides the already mentioned ones, a few other activities include visiting Mayan sites, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, and visiting a wildlife sanctuary or museum.
It is one of the best ports of call in the western Caribbean. Like other Jamaican cities, this port is equipped with plenty to see and do. You can take excursions to nearby places such as James Bond beach, Mystic Mountain and Dunn’s River Falls.
Grand Cayman Island has gained popularity as one of the most popular destinations in the Caribbean. This island has unique places, namely the Turtle farm, Hell and Stingray City.
The Stingray City is a sandbar where the stingrays pay a visit for feeding. You can go feed them by hand underwater. The Turtle Farm is a place to witness turtles in their natural habitat, and Hell is a village that sits in the middle of a rocky outcropping.
