Explore the touches of Venice and tastes of China with these top 5 things to do on Costa Venezia.
Costa Venezia takes you on voyages of discovery to the evocative corners of Turkey and Greece – to exotic gold domes overflowing with traditional flavours, lunar landscapes, and hot air balloons of kaleidoscopic colors. Concurrent with days rich in emotions on land through exclusive excursions, on board, its interior celebrates the art and architecture of the city of Venice. Add to this the bagful of entertainment, good cuisine, and a plethora of activities to indulge in and enjoy. There’s plenty on offer on board, as exhilarating as the locations and excursions on the itinerary. We take you through the things to do on Costa Venezia, as you discover them along with splashes of Venice.
The main atrium of the ship, Piazza San Marco, hosts the circular bar plumb at its centre, strikingly framed with the lion of San Marco on a column notifying the bar. The bar has the reception office and the excursion office on either of its flanks. This bar makes the Piazza perhaps the most frequented area on the ship, with many dropping by for a sip of great coffee, or just an afternoon break while on board, or for enjoying an evening aperitif. The Marco Polo Restaurant, one of the two main restaurants on Costa Venezia, is also at the Piazza. You simply cannot miss its elegance and tasteful decoration, seated comfortably around its Venetian arches and other décors, the tables being subtly arranged so. Incidentally, the lower seating area of the other main restaurant, the Canal Grande Restaurant, is also at deck 3 level. The entry to this one is through its upper level. Discover the Juventus Turin Museum, displaying a collection of items of Piedmont-based famous football team. While the football enthusiasts revel here, the children and teens can hit their play area at the bow of deck 3. Getting into all of this is indeed one of the top 5 things to do on Costa Venezia.
The Piazza San Marco, a large semi-circular balcony overlooking the area below, greets you on deck 4. The San Marco shops comprise the shopping area where you find a large variety of goods – duty-free shopping with luxury brands such as Tiffany, BVLGARI and Cartier, sweets, Juventus souvenirs et al.
Enjoy Teatro Rosso, a theatre layered over two decks; it has its entry from the bow side of deck 4. A masquerade ball re-creating the ambience of the famous Venice Carnevale is an entertainment feature at the atrium. A ‘golden party’, inspired by the colour gold - a symbol of fortune and wealth, offers you a chance to win surprises and gifts every 10 minutes.
Towards the stern side, you’ll find the Dea Bendata Casino. As you explore further down towards the stern, the elegance of the Game Room beckons you to spend time engaged in the various games on offer. You will be fascinated by the works of brilliant art that align the corridor as you move sternwards.
The last of the rooms along the sternward corridor is the Masque Lounge, replete with a large dance floor and a magnum-sized bar. This room is available for conferences and transforms itself into a dance club at night.
And, then you hit the stern on deck 4 to find an entry to the Canal Grande Restaurant. You suddenly find yourself transplanted to Venice and its signature canal with a large gondola moving through it. The feel is exquisitely created and accentuated with the beautiful view of the waving sea through glass windows at the end. You are invited to enjoy the “canal-side” walk created here, admiring the Ponte dei Sospiri – the Bridge of Sighs. Waiters, dressed as Venetians of the 17th century, take this experience of Venice on board to another level.
Your exploration through deck 4 will indeed be the ultimate thing to do on Costa Venezia.

The bow side of deck 6 features the stage area of the theatre, Teatro Rosso. Strolling down the bow, you will find some more shopping options in the stores located on the further balconies along Piazza San Marco gradually opening towards the centre of the ship. Moving on, the aromas of the specialty restaurants reach out to you. Yan Teppanyaki and Lu Hot Pot, face-to-face with each other, are first in line. Next comes the typical Venetian-style Casanova Restaurant followed by the Fiorentina Steak House which is more of Tuscany and a departure from the theme of Venice styling the Costa Venezia. Low Tables and high bar stools adorn the Bella Bar, the place for fruit juices and bubble teas, as you wait for your turn at the Frutti di Mare Restaurant facing the Bella Bar.
You arrive at the Gondola Lounge at the stern. A real, massive, and restored gondola, dominating this ballroom, awaits you here. Moving on through a bar dedicated to the ballroom you will find the Lounge delle Stelle, with celebrities, including Marilyn Monroe and Harry Potter, keeping watch over your movements from the sides.
Deck 6 is indeed a feast among the things to do on Costa Venezia.
You will always find some fun things to do on other decks too. Relax on the Promenade, the open area on deck 5. Sit back on the armchairs or lie on the sun beds soaking in the openness of the vast areas. Or, simply carry out and enjoy your food on the tables at the Promenade using it as an extension of the neighboring restaurants or the lounges.
The centre of deck 10 is the Lido Pool. The Lido Bar aligns along the perimeter of the pool; the elegance of its chairs with unobtrusive, light furnishing seems like an exquisite ornament highlighting the pool. Nearer to the stern lies the Burger Bar and Restaurant Dim Sum, which are ideal for afternoon snacks. The Buffet Marketplace Restaurant and the Lido Burano are towards the stern on deck 10. Lido Burano comprises a relaxing pool, two hydro-massage areas, and the Burano Bar for that relaxing drink while you let your body sink into the hydro massaging. The Buffet is the place where you dine outside. Pizza Napoli and the Seafood Shack are sumptuous alternatives before you.
Deck 11 provides another relaxation area overlooking the Lido, spruced with inviting armchairs where you lie down and view the Venetian villas. For the sports lover in you, deck 11 hosts the Squok Club, a multipurpose basketball court, equipment for outdoor exercise and other sporting activities.
Deck 12 hosts the Bellezza Spa with a sauna, Turkish bath, numerous treatment rooms, and a beauty salon. There are separate areas for men and women. A gym with a wondrous view over the bow is equipped with modern and contemporary equipment for your fitness.
On the outside of deck 12 discover the Teen Zones and the Mini Golf facility. Try out the serial suspended obstacle course at the Rope Garden. On deck 14, dive into water games and water slides at the Laguna. Find tranquility, serenity, and solitude, sinking into the silence offered in the alcoves or sun beds with your favorite drink from an exclusive bar at Giardino Veneziano on deck 12.
Truly, the decks are each a treasure-trove of the ultimate things to do on Costa Venezia.
As a fun thing to do on Costa Venezia, be ready with Venetian masks for a Venice Carnival party night as part of some enthralling Italian entertainment on your cruise. The Costa Venezia Film Festival in the Lounge delle Stelle entertains you with movies featured at the Venice Film Festival. You may also enjoy songs from famous films.
There are all 11 rooms dedicated to karaoke for the budding artist in you. Venezia Innamorata, an act based on the life of legendary Venetian lover Giacomo Casanova, fills a night at the theatre. Other programmes focused on Italian culture are featured at the theatre.
A total of 15 restaurants and 6 main bars, with food offerings from classic Italian dishes to fast food and traditional Chinese and Asian cuisine comprise dining options on Costa Venezia. The Lu Hot Pot provides you with the opportunity to cook your own choice of seafood, meat, and vegetables in a stock pot available in the middle of your table. You watch Japanese chefs prepare your dish live right at your table at the Yan Teppanyaki.
