Royal Caribbean Loyalty Program: Crown & Anchor Society Benefits Explained

Join Royal Caribbean’s Crown and Anchor Society to enjoy elite cruise rewards! Earn points for every night sailed and access VIP benefits, upgrades, and loyalty cruise deals.

By Cruise Booking Team

Royal Caribbean’s Crown and Anchor Society is a rewards program for guests who take multiple Royal Caribbean cruises. You earn points with every cruise, starting from your first trip, and these points unlock different benefits on the ship and land. The program has six membership levels, each offering more perks.

Royal Caribbean is known for having some of the biggest cruise ships in the world. The company sails to destinations across the globe, with trips for all interests, including long world cruises that last several months. Just like airlines and hotels, cruise lines have loyalty programs, and Royal Caribbean’s Crown and Anchor Society rewards guests who cruise often. As the cruise line says, “It pays to be loyal to Royal.” Here’s what you need to know about how the program works and the perks it offers.

How to Earn Points on Royal Caribbean Crown and Anchor?

You earn points in Royal Caribbean's Crown and Anchor Society based on the number of nights you sail. For each night on a Royal Caribbean cruise, you get one point. If you stay in a suite, you earn double, two points per night. The more points you collect, the more perks you unlock.

Enrollment happens automatically after you complete your first cruise, so there's nothing extra you need to do to join. From that point on, every trip adds to your points, helping you move up through the program’s membership levels and enjoy more benefits along the way.

Can You Earn Points with a Royal Caribbean Credit Card?

Royal Caribbean offers a co-branded credit card, but it won’t help you earn Crown and Anchor elite status. The points you earn with the card can only be used to enhance your cruise experience.

You can redeem points for onboard credits, cruise discounts, room upgrades, and companion fares. The only way to earn points toward Crown and Anchor elite status is by taking cruises.

Royal Caribbean Crown and Anchor Membership Levels

Royal Caribbean's Crown and Anchor program has six membership levels. If you're from the U.S. or Canada, you'll be automatically enrolled after your first cruise. Are There Any Crown and Anchor Partner benefits?

Being a Crown & Anchor Society member comes with more than just onboard benefits. Royal Caribbean has partnered with several companies to offer perks that members can use on land. These benefits include car rental privileges, hotel and casino perks, and elite status with another cruise line.

Here’s a closer look at what you can expect:

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards

Crown & Anchor Society members can enjoy special benefits when renting a car through Hertz, one of the world’s largest car rental companies. If you’re a frequent traveler, these perks can make renting a car easier and more convenient.

  • Skip the Counter – At select locations, you can go straight to your rental car without waiting in line at the counter. This saves time, especially at busy airports.
  • Choose Your Car – Members can pick a car from the Gold Plus Rewards area at certain locations, giving them more flexibility.

If you need a rental car for a road trip or business travel, this partnership offers extra convenience and flexibility.

MGM Rewards

Royal Caribbean has teamed up with MGM Resorts to offer Crown & Anchor members exclusive perks through the MGM Rewards program. MGM operates some of the most famous hotels and casinos in Las Vegas and other destinations.

  • MGM Elite Status Match – Crown & Anchor members with higher-tier status can get a matching elite tier with MGM Rewards. This means access to perks like priority check-in at MGM hotels, discounts on rooms, and benefits at MGM casino properties.

This perk is great for those who enjoy Las Vegas vacations or stay at MGM resorts in other locations.

Celebrity Cruises Elite Status Match

Royal Caribbean’s sister brand, Celebrity Cruises, offers a status match for Crown & Anchor members at the Platinum level and above. This means that if you have earned status with Royal Caribbean, you’ll receive similar benefits when sailing with Celebrity Cruises.

  • Platinum and Higher Get Elite Status – If you are a Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Diamond Plus, or Pinnacle Club member, you automatically get an equivalent level with Celebrity Cruises’ Captain’s Club program.
  • Extra Perks on Celebrity Cruises – This status match gives access to special discounts, priority boarding, exclusive events, and more when sailing with Celebrity.

If you’re looking to try a different cruise experience while keeping your loyalty benefits, this partnership makes it easy.

Royal Caribbean’s Crown & Anchor Society is a loyalty program designed to reward repeat cruisers with exclusive benefits. Members earn points based on the number of nights they sail, with higher tiers offering perks like priority boarding, free drinks, discounts, and even complimentary cruises. The program enhances the cruising experience, making each trip more enjoyable and rewarding for those who sail frequently.
