What Are Royal Caribbean’s Oasis-Class Ships? Everything You Need to Know

The Oasis class includes six cruise ships owned by Royal Caribbean International. The first two ships, Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas were built in Finland by STX Europe Turku Shipyard and delivered in 2009 and 2010. The third ship, Harmony of the Seas, was built in France by STX France and delivered in 2016. The fourth ship, Symphony of the Seas, was completed in March 2018. As of March 2022, the fifth ship, Wonder of the Seas, was the largest cruise ship in the world. The sixth ship, Utopia of the Seas, which is slightly bigger, was completed in July 2024.

Oasis-class cruise ships are five times bigger than the Titanic. They offer many different activities that you might never have imagined you could enjoy on a ship. List of All Oasis-Class Ships

Royal Caribbean created themed areas called neighborhoods when they designed the Oasis-class ships. No matter which Oasis-class ship you choose, there are seven neighborhoods with the same names. Each one has nearly the same shops, bars, restaurants, and activities. Things like décor and layout also vary from ship to ship.

1. Oasis of the Seas

Oasis of the Seas is the first Oasis-class ship and one of the largest cruise ships in the world, offering 18 decks, with 16 for guests. It can hold up to 5,602 passengers in double occupancy and is run by an international crew of 2,109. Built in Finland at STX Europe, the ship first set sail on December 5, 2009. At 1,187 feet long and 215 feet wide, it features a wide range of dining, entertainment, and activities for all ages.

Allure of the Seas is a giant cruise ship in the Oasis class, owned by Royal Caribbean International. Launched in December 2010, it was the largest passenger ship in the world at the time. Allure is slightly longer than its sister ship, Oasis of the Seas, by 50 millimeters. Built in Turku, Finland, at STX Europe, the ship offers 18 decks and can carry up to 6,826 guests. Some of its exciting features include 7 neighborhoods, a rock-climbing wall, and a zip line.

This incredible ship offers a variety of dining and entertainment options, from the AquaTheater and the Amber Theater to exciting spots like the Casino Royale and Comedy Live. Harmony of the Seas is third Oasis-class cruise ship that was built at STX France in Saint-Nazaire, France. Launched in May 2016, it is one of the largest passenger ships in the world, offering space for 5,479 guests. The ship features 18 decks, including 7 unique neighborhoods, which include a variety of activities, dining, and entertainment options. Harmony also boasts incredible attractions like the Ultimate Abyss slide, FlowRiders, and an AquaTheater for spectacular shows.

Symphony of the Seas is a massive fourth Oasis-class cruise ship, owned by Royal Caribbean International. Built-in 2018 at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in France, she was the largest cruise ship in the world by gross tonnage when she was completed, with a size of 228,081 GT. Symphony offers a wide variety of amenities and activities, including dining options like Jamie's Italian, El Loco Fresh, and the Park Café, as well as entertainment like the Aquatheater and Royal Theater.

The ship also features several fun areas, such as the Flowrider surf simulator, Rock Climbing Walls, and the Ultimate Abyss slide. Families can enjoy Adventure Ocean, the arcade, and the Splashaway Bay water park. Symphony of the Seas also has 18 decks, 2,759 staterooms, and space for over 5,500 guests. 5. Wonder of the Seas

Wonder of the Seas is a massive cruise ship operated by Royal Caribbean International. Completed in 2022, she is the fifth ship in the Oasis class and was the largest by gross tonnage at 235,600 GT until being surpassed in 2024 by Icon of the Seas. The ship has 18 decks and can accommodate over 5,700 guests. Some of her impressive features include the Ultimate Abyss slide, the Flowrider surf simulator, and the Aquatheater, offering guests a truly grand experience.

This Oasis-class ship also offers a wide variety of dining options, such as Giovanni’s Italian, Chops Grille, and the Kitchen & Wine Bar. Utopia of the Seas, the sixth and latest ship in Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class, made her debut on July 19, 2024, from Port Canaveral. She surpasses her sister ship, Wonder of the Seas, in size and gross tonnage, offering guests even more space to explore. With 18 decks and room for 5,668 guests, Utopia is packed with exciting features like the Ultimate Abyss slide, Flowrider surf simulator, and the AquaTheater for thrilling entertainment.

The ship offers a variety of dining options, including Giovanni's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, Chops Grille, and Coastal Kitchen. There are also fun activities for all ages, like laser tag, mini-golf, and rock climbing.
