Norwegian Cruise Line has cancelled more sailings onboard the Norwegian Spirit following the cancellation of the ship’s summer program in 2024.
It has been reported that all departures scheduled for 2025 have been canceled, along with additional departure dates scheduled for 2024.
Norwegian Cruise Line stated in one of its letters that the new cancellations are the result of redeployment moves for the 1999-built ship beyond next April.
In addition to offering exceptional vacation experiences aboard our ships, we take our guests to some of the most desirable destinations around the globe. The company explained that Norwegian Spirit’s sailings in 2025 have been cancelled due to a fleet redeployment.
Norwegian apologized for any inconvenience this may cause.
The sailings scheduled for 2024 include cruises previously scheduled to depart between May and June, as well as September and December itineraries.
Norwegian Spirit offered itineraries across Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, Hawaii, and Tahiti during that period.
In addition to the cancellation of the ship’s summer schedule for 2024 back in May, the new cancellations leave the Spirit without any itinerary after the 2023-2024 winter season.
There will be several compensations available to affected passengers, including full refunds and discounts for rebooking on different dates.
A Norwegian Cruise Line ship built in 1999 originally for Star Cruises, the Norwegian Spirit is currently among its oldest ships.
An early 2020 $100-million refurbishment upgraded its capacity to 2,000 guests. In addition to updating cabins and upgrading technology, the major modernization project added 14 new venues to the ship’s public areas.
