As a result of a drydock scheduled for late 2024, Celebrity Cruises is canceling four cruises onboard the Celebrity Apex.
The voyages were scheduled to depart between October 23, 2024, and November 23, 2024, according to a statement sent to booked guests.
A more convenient drydock schedule requires redeploying these sailings. It is necessary to cancel bookings and reaccommodate guests to alternative sailings due to the change in dock availability,” said the company.
Celebrity issued a statement saying that they are sorry for any inconvenience caused by the change. “We know how valuable your time is, so we never intended to complicate your vacation planning,” Celebrity added.
There were two week-long sailings to the Caribbean and an 11-night cruise to the Canaries, all of which were cancelled.
Passengers affected will be able to rebook on comparable sailings at the lowest available rate, Celebrity said.
A $200 onboard credit per standard stateroom and $400 per suite is available for rebooking on any other Celebrity Cruises departure at real-time prices.
Cancellations of flights will not be refunded in full, but passengers may cancel their reservations.
Upon such cancellation, the company will nullify all re-accommodation offers and issue a full refund for all amounts paid to the original form of payment.
On November 9, 2024, the Apex will depart for its new 12-night transatlantic crossing after undergoing a scheduled drydock.
A new 9-night Caribbean cruise will be offered on November 21, 2024, before the 2,900-guest vessel resumes its previously announced schedule.
The Celebrity Apex is a sister ship to the Celebrity Edge, which was delivered to Celebrity Cruises in 2020. A 129,500-ton ship entered service in June 2021 after several months in lay up due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
