It has been announced that Carnival Corporation has realigned its corporate structure, with the company’s six largest cruise brands reporting directly to Josh Weinstein, the company’s chief executive officer.
Weinstein said on the company’s second quarter earnings call, “Thanks to the removal of a layer of management between the corporate and brand levels, I now have the lead of all six major brands reporting to me.”
Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, AIDA Cruises, Costa Cruises, P&O Cruises and Holland America Line are some of those brands.
Among those six brands, three will continue to support smaller capacity brands (Seabourn, Cunard, and P&O Australia) for reasons of scale and efficiency.
Cunard will connect with P&O Cruises in the UK, while Seabourn will connect with Holland America Line. P&O Australia will be reported through Carnival Cruise Line.
According to Weinstein, by deconsolidating some of the operating units and giving them more flexibility and nimbleness and letting them report directly to me, the whole process is sped up and we are able to respond much more quickly and purposefully to the brand’s needs.
In a prepared statement, the company said its brands can operate with greater speed and responsiveness to market demands.
Weinstein’s 12 direct reports are also new (since the company paused guest cruise operations due to leadership rejuvenation).
