In collaboration with Holland America Line, ALMACO has completed a catering modernization project onboard the Westerdam.
A press release stated that the ship entered drydock in January 2023, with the project being completed in February 2023.
Holland America Line and ALMACO worked together to make this project a success, said Herve Touzard, deputy president of Lifecycle. According to plan, the project ran smoothly. In the future, we at ALMACO would be happy to collaborate with Holland America Line on new projects.”
Onboard the Westerdam, ALMACO was contracted as a turnkey contractor to modernize some galley areas and replace different equipment across the ship, including flight-type and rack-type dishwashers in the lido area on deck 9. Due to the necessity of creating a hole in the bulkhead to access the pot-washing area, the ALMACO team had to remove and replace the passenger dining room interior.
On these cruises, the Westerdam explores Japan from Yokohama and lasts between 14 and 28 nights. From Seattle, Washington, the Westerdam will offer seven-day sailings to Alaska beginning in late April.
