August 22, 2023, brought the arrival of Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas to Phu My, Vietnam.
Celebrations were held onboard in celebration of the ship’s 12-night sailings and future Vietnam cruises.
Royal Caribbean International’s vice president and managing director for Asia-Pacific, Captain Wu Huimin of Spectrum of the Seas, Nguyen Van Tho, Chairman of the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province People’s Committee, Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, and U.S. Deputy Principal Officer Anne Benjaminson visited the ship after exchanging gifts.
With key government and cruise industry stakeholders onboard today, we are delighted to celebrate our sailings to Phu My in Vietnam with Singaporeans and guests from across the globe. In addition to celebrating the 10th anniversary of the US-Vietnam Comprehensive Partnership, today’s onboard event also takes place on the same day as the US-Vietnam Comprehensive Partnership’s 10th anniversary. As part of our onshore excursions, our guests will explore Buddhist temples, take in the Bay of Boats, and enjoy guided tours of Ho Chi Minh City, all of which are expected to benefit the already flourishing tourism industry,” said Stephen.

In the aftermath of the pandemic, our tourism industry has implemented many solutions to restore and develop our tourism calendar, which has contributed positively to the province’s overall growth by maintaining a good growth rate. A 12-night cruise to Asian destinations includes Tokyo, Kumamoto, Kagoshima in Japan; Hong Kong; and Nha Trang in Vietnam.
