The Disney Cruise Line announced on Saturday that the ship that was Global Dream will now be the Disney Adventure, and that the ship will be deployed to Asia once revenue service starts in 2025.
After Genting’s demise in 2022, Disney acquired the ship in a half-finished state after it was originally ordered for Genting’s Dream Cruises and under construction at MV Werften in Germany. A methanol-powered ship will be able to accommodate approximately 6,000 passengers. In Singapore’s Marina Bay, the vessel is expected to commence its cruise program after repositioning to Asia.
Additionally, with the Fantasy, Dream, Wonder, and Magic in service, Disney will have eight cruise ships sailing by the end of 2025, together with the Treasure, which debuted in 2024, and a yet-to-be-named newbuild, which debuts in 2025.
