MSC Cruises commenced its domestic 2023-24 cruise season in Brazil on October 29 with the arrival of the MSC Preziosa.
The ship, concluding a 24-day transatlantic journey from Germany, became the first to embark on cruises from the country for the season.
An onboard celebration marked the occasion, attended by local press, travel agents, partners, and authorities, signifying the launch of MSC’s most extensive program in Brazil to date.
Adrian Ursilli, MSC Cruises‘ Country Manager in Brazil, expressed optimism about the season’s success, “Passengers will be able to choose between six embarkation ports in Brazil: Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Maceió, Salvador, Itajaí, and, for the first time, Paranaguá.” He also added that the new homeport will widen MSC’s local itinerary choices. A fleet of five ships, including the MSC Grandiosa, MSC Seaview, MSC Armonia, and MSC Lirica, is set to offer cruises from Brazilian ports.
The MSC Grandiosa, with 4,888 guests, will be the largest cruise ship operating in the country.
Additionally, the MSC Musica and MSC Poesia will visit Brazilian ports during the 2023-24 season. The MSC Preziosa initiated the season with a four-night cruise along Brazil’s Southeast Coast, featuring stops in Búzios and Ilhabela. Until mid-April, the ship is scheduled to offer short cruises to domestic destinations and week-long voyages to Argentina and Uruguay.
