Norwegian Sun Commences Homeporting Program in Baltimore

By Cruise Booking Team

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Sun recently concluded its maiden voyage for its homeporting program in Baltimore. Since arriving at the Maryland homeport on Nov. 22, this 2,002-guest vessel commenced a series of voyages to Bermuda and the Caribbean.

Sailing roundtrip from Baltimore, these itineraries have stops at various ports in both regions, including San Juan in Puerto Rico, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, and St. John’s in Antigua.

The inaugural cruise set sail to Bermuda for a five-night adventure, featuring a two-day visit to Bermuda’s Royal Naval Dockyard and two full days at sea.

Subsequently, the Norwegian Sun embarked on a 12-night cruise to the Eastern Caribbean, encompassing seven distinct destinations. Ports of call include Philipsburg in St. Maarten, Basseterre in St. Kitts, and Charlotte Amalie in St. Thomas.

Continuing its season in Baltimore, the ship will offer further roundtrip voyages before venturing on a brief South American season. In January, it will sail from Miami to Valparaiso for an exhilarating series of cruises across Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador, the Falkland Islands, and Colombia.

Norwegian Cruise Line plans to return to Baltimore in late 2024 with Norwegian Sky, presenting a series of open-jaw cruises to Canada & New England.

Originally crafted by the Lloyd Werft shipyard in Germany in 2001, the Norwegian Sun has undergone extensive refurbishments over the years. With over 15 dining options, including signature specialty venues, and an array of amenities such as swimming pools, hot tubs, kid’s clubs, a casino, spa, and fitness center, the Sun ensures a diverse and enriching cruising experience.
