Carnival Cruise Line has partnered with Effy Jewelry to introduce a groundbreaking technology on the soon-to-launch Carnival Firenze. This collaboration brings a first-at-sea digital kiosk where guests can explore Effy’s newest ring collections using augmented reality. By simply scanning their hand at the kiosk, guests can virtually “try on” various rings, enhancing their shopping experience with speed and convenience.
Luis Terife, the Vice President of Onboard Guest Commerce at Carnival, talked about the innovation of showcasing Effy’s timeless jewelry through advanced technology. He noted that this approach not only delivers a unique and personal shopping experience but also enables guests to effortlessly visualize how different pieces fit, eliminating the need to physically try on each item. He described it as a modern shopping solution that is conveniently accessible at their fingertips.
The launch of the Carnival Firenze out of Long Beach, California, will also celebrate the opening of the 27th Effy Jewelry store within the fleet. In addition to new store installations, updates are planned across all Effy shops on Carnival ships, alongside exclusive VIP cruises for diamond enthusiasts.
Bobby Hematian, president of Effy Jewelry, expressed excitement about launching their first digital kiosk on the Carnival Firenze. He explained that the initiative aimed to create a fun, interactive in-store experience, enabled customers to access products beyond the physical confines of the store. He thanked Carnival stating on record, “We are grateful to Carnival for the continuous support in cruise retail innovation. Our partnership, over the years, has been driven by a shared passion in travel, family, FUN and, of course, jewelry! I am excited to see how our teams partner in this next evolution of retail experiences!”
