Carnival Firenze Anchors in Long Beach Ahead of Inaugural Cruise

By Cruise Booking Team

Carnival Cruise Line’s latest ship, the Carnival Firenze, has just arrived in California, ready for its first trip. The ship, built in 2021, started its journey in Spain and after traveling for a month, including stops in the Canary Islands, Argentina, and Chile, it docked in Long Beach on April 23, 2024.
The Carnival Firenze, which was recently transformed from a Costa cruise ship at the Navantia shipyard, is now getting ready to embark on its initial voyage from Long Beach on April 25, 2024. It will offer cruises lasting from three to seven nights to various destinations like the Mexican Riviera, California, and Baja Mexico. The ship will visit places such as Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta, and Catalina Island.

For its first cruise, the Firenze will take a seven-night trip to the Mexican Riviera, which includes three days at sea and stops in Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo San Lucas.
Previously part of Costa Cruises, the Carnival Firenze is now part of Carnival’s new “Carnival Fun Italian Style” concept. This new offering mixes the cruise line’s traditional features with an Italian flair, reflected in the ship’s design, which draws inspiration from Florence, Italy. The ship can host 4,232 guests and features themed public areas and rooms, including a main dining room named after the famous Italian artist Michelangelo.
Additionally, the Carnival Firenze includes popular Carnival venues such as an Italian-themed Guy’s Burger Joint, a European-style Limelight Lounge, and a Hero’s Tribute Bar dedicated to military heroes. Unique to this ship and its sister ship, the Carnival Venezia, is a special paint design that merges Costa’s original funnel style with Carnival’s new hull design, and includes a change in the traditional red stripe on the hull to yellow, honoring the ship’s origins.
