The Showtime Theater at the Carnival Magic, which seats 1,500, has been upgraded with new lighting. This includes 30 Robe PAINTE lights, 30 LEDBeam 350s, and 12 miniPointe moving lights.
The installation of these new lights happened while the ship was still running trips around Miami.
During the upgrade, the original moving lights were replaced under the watchful eyes of Silviu Ardelean, the fleet supervisor for lighting at Carnival Cruise Line, and Alexander Nelson, the lighting manager.
Ardelean believes that the new PAINTE lights will be effective for at least 10 years.
The theater spans decks 3, 4, and 5 of the Carnival Magic and is the main spot for entertainment on the ship. The lighting in the venue was redesigned during this update, keeping the look and feel of the original design intact.
