According to a press release, MSC Cruises will be increasing its operations at Port Canaveral by adding a second ship, the MSC Grandiosa, which will start sailing from the port in December 2025, joining the MSC Seashore. This expansion will bring more seven-night sailings and additional short cruises to The Bahamas.
Capt. John Murray, the CEO of Port Canaveral, conveyed his elation, “We are honored that MSC Cruises chose Port Canaveral for the North American debut of their magnificent MSC Grandiosa”. He shared his pride in the cruise partner’s significant growth in the United States and noted that the expansion of their homeport fleet at Port Canaveral reflects their confidence in the partnership and their shared commitment to success. He looked forward to welcoming all of their valued cruise guests to the beautiful port.
The MSC Grandiosa is set to offer alternating seven-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Meanwhile, the MSC Seashore will provide three- and four-night cruises to Nassau and Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the line’s private island in The Bahamas.
Rubén A. Rodríguez, President of MSC Cruises USA, mentioned that the Winter 2025-2026 season will represent their largest presence in the U.S. to date, and the expansion at Port Canaveral is a significant part of that growth. He noted that since they started sailing from Port Canaveral in 2021, guests have appreciated the convenience of accessing MSC Cruises’ unique international flavor from Central Florida. He added that they are excited to offer two of their most modern and glamorous ships at Port Canaveral, providing itineraries that will appeal to a range of cruisers, from first-timers to the seasoned.
