Seabourn Pursuit On the morning of June 11, 2024, the Seabourn Pursuit sailed into Darwin, Northern Territory, marking its first entry into Australian waters.
According to a press release, this arrival heralds the start of Seabourn’s inaugural season in the Kimberley Region.
The official program kicks off on June 12, with the expedition ship embarking on the first of six ten-day voyages between Darwin and Broome.
Seabourn highlights the Kimberley Region as “one of the world’s most remote destinations, renowned for its otherworldly landscapes, abundant wildlife and Aboriginal culture.”
Guests aboard the Seabourn Pursuit will have the opportunity to explore remote locations such as Ngula Jar Island while enjoying stunning views throughout their journey, according to the company.
The expedition cruises include complimentary experiences like zodiac cruises through rivers and sandstone gorges, nature walks, hikes, and more.
Passengers will also be able to participate in immersive experiences focusing on the rich cultural heritage of the Kimberley.
In related news, Seabourn recently named the Wunambal Gaambera Traditional Owners as godparents of the Seabourn Pursuit.
This historic appointment makes Seabourn the first cruise line to choose Aboriginal Traditional Owners as godparents of a ship.
As part of this honor, Seabourn will donate to the Wunambal Gaambera to help develop a self-sustaining industry, producing authentic works of art and crafts by Wunambal Gaambera artists for sale.
Additionally, the company will supply the Wunambal Gaambera Aboriginal Corporation with pearl shells and various art supplies and polishing materials to support sustainable, commercial arts and craft initiatives year-round.
The Seabourn Pursuit, a sister ship to the 2022-built Seabourn Venture, entered service in August 2023.
With a suite of dedicated features and specifications, the 264-guest vessel debuted as Seabourn’s second purpose-built expedition ship.
