Costa Cruises is highlighting its late summer and fall itineraries in the Western Mediterranean aboard the Costa Smeralda.
According to a press release, these seasons offer more comfortable temperatures and fewer crowds, enhancing the travel experience.
The Costa Smeralda will operate week-long cruises to destinations in Italy, France, and Spain. The itineraries are part of Costa’s new “Sea Destinations” program, which brings unique onshore experiences onboard through immersive activities and celebrations.
With multiple homeports and varied embarkation days, these cruises provide guests with “the ultimate flexibility,” Costa added.
The regular seven-night itinerary on the Costa Smeralda includes stops at Marseille, France; Barcelona, Spain; and Civitavecchia (Rome), Genoa, Cagliari, and Naples in Italy. Passengers can embark on roundtrip voyages from Barcelona, Genoa, or Civitavecchia.
As part of the “Sea Destinations” program, guests will experience activities such as “Balearic Sea – Sea of Stars,” where they can explore planets and constellations with a ship officer on deck, away from the light pollution of the mainland.
Another highlight is the “Capri Bay – Caprese Breakfast,” where guests enjoy Neapolitan coffee and torta Caprese with a view of Capri at dawn before arriving in Naples.
The program also features the “Cetacean Sanctuary – Cetacean Light Show,” revealing the secrets of sea creatures against the backdrop of the open sea and the ship’s funnel.
Costa Cruises emphasized that North American guests on the Costa Smeralda will experience an authentic European-style cruise.
