Norwegian Cruise Line’s plans for the Norwegian Spirit’s trips in Asia in 2025 are undergoing many changes.
The company recently informed guests that some changes would be made to an 11-night cruise that was supposed to take place on July 16, 2025.
In addition to starting from a different port, the voyage saw six of its seven places of call replaced.
Starting in Taiwan, the original itinerary was set to depart from Keelung before visiting Kaohsiung and Hualien.
The Norwegian Spirit was then set to visit Hong Kong before visiting Miyako-Jima, Naha, Kobe, and Shimizu in Japan.
The cruise had an open-jaw schedule and spent two days at sea before finishing with a night stop at the Port of Tokyo.
Other than the overnight call in Tokyo, the only destination on the new itinerary is Shimizu, which is a starting point for tours to Mount Fuji.
According to Norwegian’s statement, the sailing is now set to start in South Korea, departing from Incheon.
Instead of going to Taiwan and China, the trip now features a visit to Jeju in South Korea before arriving in Japan for a series of new ports of call.
The new itinerary does not include days at sea but includes visits to Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Hiroshima, Kochi, Himeji, Osaka, Nagoya, and Shimizu before finishing in Tokyo.
Earlier this year, Norwegian Cruise Line also made major changes to other sailings on the Norwegian Spirit in the region.
One of the cruises that underwent major changes was the departure on Dec. 10, 2024, which was planned to start in Manila.
Now set to leave from Hong Kong, the 12-night itinerary sails to the Philippines, Taiwan, and Japan, and the dates for most of its ports of call have changed.
In addition to an extra port of call, the new itinerary saw one destination replaced, with Taichung replacing Hualien.
The open-jaw cruise now starts with an overnight stay in Hong Kong before hitting Coron, Puerto Princesa, Boracay, Kaohsiung, Taichung, Miyako-Jima, Naha, and Ishigaki. As originally scheduled, the itinerary ends in Keelung, Taiwan.
