Holland America Opens Bookings for 2026-27 Season, Featuring South America & Antarctica Voyages

By Cruise Booking Team

According to a press release for Holland America, their two ships, The Oosterdam and the Volendam, are set to explore South America and Antarctica. This is part of their 2026-27 winter deployment plans. The season is divided into itineraries lasting from 14- to 31-days.

These itineraties will take passengers to “hard-to-reach destinations” like the Amazon River, Falkland Islands and Antarctica during the months between November 2026 and March 2027.

Also in focus is the Pio XI Glacier, the Southern Hemisphere’s largest glacier outside of Antarctica, for the season of 2026-27, about which Paul Grigsby, vice president of deployment and revenue planning, had this to say, “Pio XI—or the Brüggen Glacier—is the longest glacier in the Southern Hemisphere outside of Antarctica, and it is truly spectacular.”

He further added, “Sometimes referred to as the ‘Grandaddy of Patagonian icefields,’ it’s known for its bright blue hues and signature dark streak, and it can really only be accessed via ship. Plus, it is a very active glacier for calving, so our guests are in for a treat when they visit.”

Furthermore, Holland American’s 14- and 15-day itineraries involve The Oosterdam which is set to visit this icy destination, sailing between San Antonio in Chile and Buenos Aires in Argentina.

These itineraries are part of “South American Pathways: Chilean Fjords and Glaciers.” They are open-jaw cruises with visits to Montevideo (Uruguay), Stanley (Falkland Islands), Ushuaia (Argentina) and Punta Arenas, Puerto Chacabuco and Puerto Montt (Chile).

Also featured are scenic cruises at the Chilean fjords, Glacier Alley and a day at the Pio XI Glacier.

Moreover, in other news, Holland America’s “Legendary Amazon Explorer” involves being onboard the Volendam during its 2026-27 deployment. Guests will be taken on a journey into the heart of the Amazon rainforest, with 27 or 30 days roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale or from New York to Fort Lauderdale. Guests will be blessed with sights of wildlife such as the howler monkeys, exotic birds, pink dolphins and more.

The Cruise Line is also providing an extended opportunity to see the “Meeting of the Waters” between the Amazon River and Rio Negro, while on an overnight call in Manaus.
