In March 26, the American Coast Guard (USCG) alerted Carnival Valor and requested help from the ship’s crew to rescue three Hondurans from a small boat adrift in the Gulf of Mexico.
As the Carnival Valor crew was about 35 nautical miles from the distress boat, USCG officials contacted the crew. A lifeboat from the Carnival Valor was used to rescue the stranded people when the ship’s crew found the boat.
Three men were saved by the crew and welcomed aboard. A medical examination by the ship’s crew found the three men in good health after the rescue. Until Monday, March 27, 2023, the ship will provide them with food and lodging.
Carnival Valor’s itinerary is not affected by the rescue operation. On Saturday, the ship left Port NOLA on a five-day cruise.
