One year of service has been completed on the Celebrity Beyond.
Celebrity Cruises received the Edge-Class vessel on April 6, 2022, after it was built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique Shipyard in France.
Western Europe’s first Beyond voyage began later that month.
This 10-night repositioning voyage sailed from Southampton in England, stopping in Bordeaux, France; Lisbon, Portugal; Seville, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, and Barcelona, Spain.
Late in October, the Beyond repositioned to the United States after undertaking a seven- to ten-night cruise program in the Mediterranean and Greek Islands.
More than 2,500 guests and media members attended the ship’s christening in Fort Lauderdale a few days later.
In addition to Biles serving as the ship’s godmother, singer Leona Lewis performed a live performance during the ceremony. Biles is a 19-time World Champion, seven-time Olympic Medalist and the most decorated athlete in American history.
At the time, Biles said she was honored to be selected as Beyond’s Godmother and join other strong, barrier-breaking women who have been named Celebrity’s Godmothers before her.
Immediately following the ceremony, seven-night cruises to both the Western and Eastern Caribbean were offered on the vessel during its maiden season in North America.
The Celebrity Beyond is the third ship of Celebrity Cruises’ Edge series, featuring numerous new features, including the travel-inspired Le Voyage specialty restaurant and a newly redesigned Sunset Bar.
There are also many unique amenities on board the 3,260-guest ship, such as the Magic Carpet.
Cantilevered, floating platforms can reach heights of 13 stories above the sea level and serve various functions, depending on the deck where they are located. They can serve as specialty restaurants, extensions of the ship’s pool deck, or tender boat landing platforms.
