Cruise ship Carnival Luminosa is about to embark on a 22-day repositioning cruise to the U.S.

By Cruise Booking Team

A repositioning cruise to the United States is being embarked on Carnival Luminosa after completing its first season in Australia. During the 22-night itinerary, the ship will visit five different locations in New Caledonia, Fiji, French Polynesia, and Hawaii.

Papeete in Tahiti and Honolulu are among the ports of call, where the ship will spend 14 hours docked. Suva, Moorea, and Noumea are also stops on the Luminosa’s journey north.

A week-long cruise to Alaska, stopping at Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway, will begin the 2009-built cruise ship’s first season in the United States in early May. After visiting Victoria, Canada, Washington will sail on the Tracy Arm Fjord before returning to its home port.

Carnival Miracle and Carnival Spirit are also part of Carnival’s three-ship Alaskan summer program.

Carnival’s longest cruise will depart from Australia in mid-September on the Luminosa. For the 2023-2024 winter season, the ship will visit Alaska, Japan, the Philippines, and Indonesia on its 30-night transpacific itinerary before heading home to Brisbane.

The Costa Luminosa was formerly a Costa Cruises ship and will become a Carnival Cruise Line ship in September 2022.

With this refurbishment, several public areas have been transformed into signature spaces and experiences, unique to the U.S.-based brand.

As well as Carnival’s new hull livery, the Luminosa offers additional dining venues such as Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Chef’s Table, and Bonsai Sushi Express. On the Luminosa, guests can also enjoy Punch liner Comedy Club, Limelight Lounge, Piano Bar 88, Alchemy Bar, RedFrog Rum Bar, and Serenity Retreat, which are all facilities of the company.
