Carnival Corporation has entered into an agreement with Meyer Werft to construct a new cruise ship for Carnival Cruise Line, serving as a sister ship to the Carnival Jubilee, which was delivered in 2023. This new vessel is slated for delivery in 2027.
Bernd Eikens, CEO of the Meyer Group, expressed satisfaction about continuing the group’s partnership with Carnival Corporation through this new venture. Thomas Weigend, MEYER Group’s Chief Sales Officer, remarked, “This order is a clear sign that the cruise market has recovered and that there is great demand for sea trips”.
Josh Weinstein, CEO of Carnival Corporation, shared his enthusiasm about advancing the company’s fleet expansion with another cutting-edge ship from MEYER WERFT. He believes the new ship will delight cruise travelers.
Since 2018, Meyer Werft and Meyer Turku have constructed nine LNG-powered cruise ships for four of Carnival Corporation’s cruise lines, all based on a shared technical platform. The upcoming ship will also be developed on this platform, measuring approximately 344 meters in length.
