Carnival Freedom Returns To Service With New Look

It enjoyed a 14-day transatlantic voyage from Barcelona, Spain, to Port Canaveral, Florida, as it re-entered service with its iconic winged funnel.

Carnival said in a press release that the ship underwent extensive refurbishment that included installing the new funnel and adding the signature red, white and blue hull livery.

A 16-day dry dock at the Navantia shipyard in Cadiz, Spain, was completed earlier this month for the 2,980-guest ship. In addition to their other work on Carnival funnels across the fleet, the yard’s team members have designed and manufactured other Carnival funnels before.

A new Heroes Tribute Bar, which honors military veterans and active-duty service members across Carnival’s fleet, is one of the other enhancements. Guests can now create memories that become keepsakes from their cruise with the assistance of Carnival’s photography staff at the Dreams Studio on Carnival Freedom. Additionally, the ship’s casino will be expanded, and its staterooms and public areas will be renovated and upgraded.

In addition to Valencia, Malaga and Las Palmas, Spain as well as Bermuda, Carnival Freedom’s transatlantic Carnival Journeys cruise from Spain offers guests an unforgettable experience. From Port Canaveral, the ship offers four- and five-day sailings to destinations in The Bahamas, such as Nassau and Princess Cays, as well as other Caribbean destinations, like Grand Turk. In 2025, Carnival will begin calling on its upcoming exclusive destination, Celebration Key, as a port of call on many of its new itineraries.
