The Carnival Liberty was recently reported to have arrived at its new homeport in New Orleans, having been repositioned from Port Canaveral. Built in 2005, the cruise ship is now offering a series of seven-night cruises that depart from Louisiana.
Every Sunday, the Liberty departs from New Orleans, visiting ports in the Eastern and Western Caribbean, as well as the Bahamas. The program includes three different week-long itineraries that visit ports of call such as Cozumel, Costa Maya, Belize, Montego Bay, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Mahogany Bay, Freeport, and Nassau.
In addition, the Carnival Liberty is set to offer a special Carnival Journey from New Orleans in December 2024. This 14-night itinerary will explore the Panama Canal and the Southern Caribbean, with stops at Grand Cayman, Aruba, Curaçao, Cartagena, Colón, Puerto Limón, and Cozumel.
Alongside the Carnival Liberty, the Carnival Valor will continue to sail from New Orleans. Since its debut in Louisiana in early 2019, the ship has been offering a series of four- and five-night cruises to Mexico and the Western Caribbean. This deployment, which is scheduled to continue at least until April 2026, features itineraries that visit Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Puerto Progreso.
Starting in 2025, the Carnival Liberty plans to include visits to Carnival’s new private destination on the island of Grand Bahama, Celebration Key.
