Hurricane Milton Delays More Carnival Ships

By Cruise Booking Team

As Hurricane Milton continues to disrupt cruise schedules across Florida and the Caribbean, Carnival Cruise Line has announced further delays for several of its ships.

Operating out of Port Canaveral, the Carnival Glory will not be able to return to its homeport as planned on Friday, October 11. Due to the port’s closure, the ship is now expected to dock on Saturday, October 12, and begin its next cruise to the Bahamas a day later than scheduled.

“We are hopeful we will be able to operate with a shortened duration. We will provide more information about operational plans for this voyage, following the reopening of the port and after completion of a post-storm assessment,” stated Carnival.

The cruise was originally set for three nights, featuring a stop in Bimini along with a full day at sea.

In the meantime, while Port Miami remains partially open, the Carnival Sunrise won’t be able to dock as scheduled on Thursday, October 10. This delay means that its upcoming cruise will now depart on Friday, October 11, with a shortened itinerary.

Initially, the Carnival Sunrise was slated for a four-night journey to the Bahamas, stopping in Nassau and Half Moon Cay.

Carnival had also previously announced delays for the Carnival Elation and the Carnival Paradise, sailing out of Jacksonville and Tampa, respectively.

Originally scheduled to return to Jacksonville on Thursday, October 10, the Carnival Elation is currently waiting for clearance to dock. While the details are still being finalized, the ship’s next cruise is anticipated to operate on a shorter schedule.

Similarly, the Carnival Paradise is facing challenges in Tampa, with its port still closed to all marine traffic. Carnival has decided to cancel its next sailing, which was scheduled to depart on Thursday, October 10.
