Rio de Janeiro Port Will Welcome Eight Cruise Vessels during the Carnival of 2025

By Cruise Booking Team

Eight cruise ships have been scheduled to dock at Rio de-Janeiro’s Pier Mauá during Carnival from March 1 to 5 in 2025.

Approximately 20,000 passengers will go through the port during the celebration period, of which three ships will be in port for an extended multi-day visit.

The five major cruise lines that are represented are Azamara, Costa, Crystal, MSC, and Silversea. The just-launched LNG-powered vessel of Silversea, Silver Ray, will make its maiden call at Rio on March 1 for a four-day berth.

Furthermore, the Crystal Serenity will alternate with Rio for three nights from March 3, marking the first visit of the relaunched Crystal brand to Rio. Similarly, the Azamara Journey will be undergoing a three-day port stay at Port Canaveral arriving on March 1 till March 4.

And during the Carnival season, Pier Mauá will be hosting MSC Armonia, MSC Orchestra, MSC Poesia, and Costa Favolosa.

“For the Carnival, we have noticed that two ships are making four-day calls, which is a novelty for us,” said Operations Manager Marcello Chagas. “Contrary to the traditional overnight operations where most of the staff tend to work in the late hours, for this time, we plan to keep the terminal fully staffed during the whole 24 hours, throughout the four days.”

During their stay at the iconic port, the cruise passengers will probably be taken to the famous Sapuca Sambodrome to witness samba school parades.
