Celebrity Cruises Cancels Visits to Labadee from Apex’s Itineraries

By Cruise Booking Team

Celebrity Cruises has announced the cancellation of scheduled stops at Labadee, Haiti, for the Celebrity Apex as part of its itinerary adjustments for the 2024-2025 winter sailings. The announcement was made in communications sent to guests who had bookings and travel agents.
The Announcement read: “Due to a change in our itinerary planning for our 2024-025 winter sailings, we are removing Labadee, Haiti from our Celebrity Apex sailings.”
Initially, the Celebrity Apex was slated to visit Royal Caribbean’s private destination during its various week-long itineraries to the Western and Eastern Caribbean. However, the plans have been altered, and the ship will now call at other Caribbean locations, such as Nassau in the Bahamas and Grand Turk in Turks and Caicos. Some itineraries will substitute Labadee with visits to Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas.

The company expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by these itinerary changes and thanked its guests for their understanding. It was also mentioned that any shore excursions pre-purchased for Labadee would be automatically refunded to the passengers’ original method of payment.
The Celebrity Apex, departing from Fort Lauderdale, is scheduled to operate a series of six to seven-night cruises during the winter of 2024-25. These week-long itineraries include various Caribbean ports of call such as Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, Grand Cayman, St. Kitts, the Dominican Republic, Key West, and others.
After completing its season in early March 2025, the cruise ship, built in 2020 and part of Celebrity Cruises’ Edge Class, is planned to undertake a trans-Atlantic crossing followed by a drydock in Europe. The ship is expected to spend the summer of 2025 in Northern Europe before returning to the Caribbean later that year.
Labadee has been excluded from itineraries since March 2024, primarily due to political unrest in Haiti.
