A few months after the Venezia completed its last sailing for Costa Cruises, it recently arrived at Navantia shipyard in Cádiz for its conversion.
A new “Carnival Fun Italian Style” product will be showcased during the vessel’s stay at the Spanish facility. A combination of the company’s signature experiences and the ship’s Italian theme was announced by the U.S.-based firm.
Originally intended for China, the Venezia is similar to Carnival’s Vista Class. Venice-inspired interior design is one of the main features of the hotel.
At the ship’s main atrium, the famous Piazza di San Marco is reminiscent of the famous La Fenice theatre in Venice.
There are also themed areas such as the main restaurants, which were decorated with life-sized gondolas reminiscent of Venetian alleyways.
Carnival Waterworks aqua park, Piano Bar 88, and Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse will be added to the ship during drydock in Spain.
There is also a Bonsai Sushi bar, a Seafood Shack, a Cloud 9 Salon & Spa and a Serenity Adult-Only Retreat at the resort.
Costa and Carnival colors are also mixed together on the Venezia, highlighted by a yellow funnel from the Italian brand.
In June, Carnival Venezia will begin year-round cruising from New York City after offering a 15-night transatlantic crossing in late May. Cruises are available from four to 15 nights in Bermuda, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Canada, and New England.
With the Costa Firenze joining the fleet on the West Coast in 2024, another ship will join the “Carnival Fun Italian Style Concept.”
