Costa Cruises’ capacity for 2024 will be primarily focused on the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, with over 55 percent of the company’s total capacity allocated to these two regions, South America and Asia also remain important markets for the cruise line.
The majority of Costa Cruises’ fleet is set to operate in the Mediterranean or Northern Europe throughout the year, including the company’s largest and newest ships, the Costa Smeralda and Costa Toscana, both of which accommodate up to 5,224 guests.
In Asia, Costa’s presence will be maintained by the Costa Serena, the company’s only ship in the region. The Serena is scheduled to offer a year-round program of short cruises across the Far East and Southeast Asia, in collaboration with local partners. This program also marks Costa’s return to Hong Kong, with a series of short cruises departing from the port in the fall.
After experiencing significant growth in 2023, South America is highlighted as another key region for Costa Cruises. For the 2024-25 winter season, the company will deploy three ships to South America, including the Costa Pacifica, which returns to Brazil after a four-year hiatus. Alongside the Costa Favolosa and Costa Diadema, the Costa Pacifica will offer a range of three- to nine-night cruises in the region, featuring ports in Argentina and Uruguay
Seasonal programs in South America will represent over 12 percent of Costa Cruises’ capacity in 2024. Also, the company will deploy many ships and itineraries in other regions, such as the Middle East, the Caribbean, and the Atlantic Islands.
