A partnership between Costa Cruises and Zeffirino restaurant is intended to increase the popularity of Ligurian cuisine onboard Costa Cruises ships.
On August 8, guests aboard the Costa Toscana and Costa Smeralda will have the opportunity to taste pesto, a green sauce that originated in Genoa, made according to the original recipe and using Italian ingredients.
Trofie (Ligurian pasta) and pesto will be paired to create the traditional Ligurian dish, trofie with pesto. A fee is charged for guests to enjoy this delicacy in the ships’ main restaurants.
Additionally, the Costa Toscana and the Costa Smeralda will visit Liguria every week in addition to serving Zeffirino’s trofie.
Each Friday, the two ships will visit Genoa as part of an itinerary exploring Italy, France, and Spain, with stops in Marseille, Barcelona, Cagliari, Naples, and Civitavecchia/Rome.
In addition to Savona, the Costa Smeralda will make calls to Marseille, Barcelona, Ibiza, Palermo and Civitavecchia/Rome during its week-long itinerary.
