Costa Cruises was honored with the “Best Improvement for Diversity & Inclusion in the Workplace” award by the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, as highlighted in a recent press release.
This D&I (Diversity & Inclusion) award salutes maritime industry corporations that significantly champion and implement gender equality and diversity within their frameworks.
Costa Cruises particularly stood out for its commendable Transgender in the Workplace policy, which is dedicated to promoting fairness and equality for transgender individuals in the employment sphere.
The accolade was conferred in Brussels by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the North Sea of the Kingdom of Belgium, Paul Van Tigchelt, to Costa Cruises’ Development and D.E.I. Manager, Stephane Codeluppi. He was joined by Bernard Vanheule, the Costa and Carnival Corporation EU Affairs Director.
Stephane Codeluppi expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “This recognition is further confirmation that the culture of diversity and inclusion is part of Costa Cruises’ DNA. Specifically, our transgender policy provides clear and concrete guidelines that help create a comfortable and inclusive working environment for transgender people.” He also highlighted the comprehensive benefits of such inclusive policies on society.
