Costa Serena will sail to Japan in the fall of 2023 as part of Taiwan International Ports’ (TIPC) return to Asia this year.
Three Costa Serena cruises departing from Kaohsiung will take travelers to Okinawa, Japan for the mid-autumn and National Day holidays.
During the months of July and October, the ship will also sail from Taiwan to Japan for regular homeport cruises, based first at Keelung and then at Kaohsiung.
As of May 28, 157 cruise ship calls have already been made to Kaohsiung’s port, including 27 port-of-calls.
There is currently a test being conducted for automated smart passenger handling systems at the TIPC’s Kaohsiung Port Cruise Terminal Building.
Additionally, TIPC plans to expand and upgrade the Penglai Cruise Terminal upon completion.
