Travel agents recently enjoyed a unique Michel Roux cooking masterclass, where they tested their culinary abilities, as revealed in a press release.
The event occurred on March 20 at the esteemed Chewton Glen Hotel in Hampshire, commencing with a Michel Roux cooking demonstration, followed by a delectable two-course lunch and an interactive Q&A session.
Following the demonstration, agents undertook the challenge of replicating two Michel Roux dishes – a miso-glazed skrei with a carrot and ginger puree accompanied by crispy kale, and a rhubarb soufflé with oat crumble and vanilla cream.
The agents earned their spots at this exclusive event by answering a question regarding Roux’s partnership with Cunard. This year, Chef Roux will helm four Le Gavroche at Sea residencies on Fjords cruises, beginning with a June 2 departure on the Queen Mary 2.
During the five-night stint, each evening will cater to 60 guests, presenting an array of Michel’s iconic seafood dishes and culinary masterpieces through a five-course tasting menu that celebrates oceanic flavors.
Additionally, Roux is set to curate menus for the Golden Lion venue on board, as well as for the Queens Grill Gala menu.
Hannah Ayling from the Travel Village Group shared her gratitude, stating, “I want to thank Cunard for such a special day and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I’ve picked up some new culinary skills, including how to cook fish in the correct way. I think we all felt a little nervous cooking for Michel Roux, especially a souffle, but thankfully they were all successful.”
