Disney Cruise Line Spreads Joy to Communities Worldwide

Disney Cruise Line cast and crew have partnered with local organizations to bring smiles and support to communities across the globe. Their heartfelt efforts include a variety of activities, from surprise visits by Mickey Mouse to donating books and toys, decorating ornaments, and packing meal kits for families in need.

Bernadette Sweeting-Miller, Public Affairs Manager at Disney Cruise Line talked about how their Disney Cruise Line ships visit Nassau every week and that for many crew members, it feels like home for them. He further said, “It means so much to us to bring some Disney magic off the ship and create memorable moments for local students, especially this time of year.”

Spreading Magic Through the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive
As part of the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive, Mickey Mouse made stops at Disney Cruise Line port communities, including Port Canaveral, Florida, and Nassau, The Bahamas. The team distributed toys to students at Endeavour Elementary in Cocoa, Florida, and Albury Sayle Primary in Nassau, brightening the holidays for children in these communities.

“It’s been said that ‘it takes a village to raise a child.’ This is best seen in the educational arena as the community and organizations, like Disney Cruise Line, come together to improve the lives of our students,” said Naria Holbert, Principal of Albury Sayle Primary School in Nassau. She acknowledged Disney Cruise Line’s support and the generous contributions they provided to her school for more than a decade.

Making an Impact Across Communities
While docked in Port Everglades, the Disney Dream crew brought cheer to over 300 students at the Jack & Jill Center by distributing toys and books and assisting children in crafting holiday ornaments. In Nassau, the crew partnered with the Bahamas Feeding Network to pack meal kits for families in need and donated $25,000 to support the local community.

Additionally, Disney Cruise Line teams from Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point spent their time off visiting local schools, where they distributed gifts and created unforgettable moments for children.

By blending their iconic magic with meaningful outreach, Disney Cruise Line continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of those in their port communities.
