According to a press release, the Disney Destiny, set to launch in late 2025 from Port Everglades, Florida, will feature a variety of hero and villain-themed attractions inspired by Disney, Pixar, and Marvel. The ship will offer hero-themed experiences, including a “Lion King” dining adventure, an “Incredibles” confectionery, and themed staterooms.
Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line, mentioned, “For the Disney Destiny, we will introduce brand-new cruise experiences inspired by the legends and legacies of some of Disney’s most iconic heroes and villains.” She emphasized that from dining rooms to staterooms, guests aboard the new ship would be immersed in extraordinary storytelling combined with the signature service and family-fun adventures that characterize a Disney Cruise vacation.
One of the featured venues, Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, will be a savanna-themed space with live musicians and storytellers performing favorites like “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata,” along with a themed menu. Edna Á La Mode Sweets, inspired by “The Incredibles,” will offer handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies, and specialty treats.
Additionally, two walk-up cafes located near the Grand Hall on the Disney Destiny will provide a variety of coffee, tea, specialty beverages, and snacks. Café Megara, inspired by the heroine from Disney’s “Hercules,” will have a “Greco disco” design with elements such as lightning bolts, clouds of Mount Olympus, vases with the Muses, Pegasus, and wave patterns on the ceiling. Café Merida, themed around the heroine from Pixar’s “Brave,” will showcase a Celtic design reflecting her Scottish Highlands heritage, with highlights including a tapestry hung from a bow and glowing lights above the bar, reminiscent of the will-o’-the-wisps.
