Alaska Season Starts for Holland America in 2023

With the arrival of the Eurodam at the Port of Seattle today, Holland America Line began its 2023 Alaskan cruise season.

According to a press release, Holland America Line celebrated Seattle’s Hometown Cruise Line Day with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Pier 91 with Miss Washington Regan Gallo and Miss Alaska Jessica Reisinger.

An honorific plaque was presented by Holland America Line to Port of Seattle in honor of its 150th anniversary, along with a donation to Seattle-based nonprofit organization The Pastry Project.

There was also a marching band performance from the University of Washington as part of Fanfare on the Pier.

During the Alaska season of 2023, the Westerdam will cruise roundtrip from Seattle to Anchorage.

Holland America Line begins its 150th Anniversary campaign today in its hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. “As the pioneer and leader in Alaska cruising, we are excited to begin our 150th Anniversary season in our hometown,” said Beth Bodensteiner, Holland America Line’s chief commercial officer.

In addition to being Holland America Line’s headquarters, Seattle is the company’s leading homeport. We are ready for an entire Alaska cruise, cruise tour season, and land excursions to Denali and Yukon, with two ships based here and four in Vancouver.

The Koningsdam will begin sailing to Alaska on Monday, May 1, via Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

A celebration of the 150th anniversary will take place on the Noordam in Vancouver on May 2, alongside a donation to YWCA Crabtree Corner and a presentation of a plaque to Port of Vancouver.

Six Holland America Line ships will sail from Vancouver through September, including the Nieuw Amsterdam and the Volendam.
