Holland America Line is making its return to Japan with its Westerdam after a three-year absence.
It arrived in Yokohama last week to begin a spring program in the country after a short season in Southeast Asia.
The Westerdam will offer roundtrip cruises from the port situated near Tokyo to various Japanese ports, including Kobe/Osaka, Tokushima, Kagoshima and Shimizu.
During its first visit to the region since early 2020, the ship will offer “Japan Explorer,” a 14-night itinerary.
There are ten ports on board the voyage, including Hiroshima, Kochi, and Sakaiminato.
As part of the program, the ship will also visit Ishigaki, Naha, and other Japanese destinations, as well as ports in Taiwan and South Korea through April.
The ship will then complete its Asia schedule by sailing to Seattle, its homeport in Alaska for the summer season.
Westerdam is part of Holland America’s Vista Class of four ships. Having undergone extensive refurbishment over the years, the 82,000 ton ship underwent a drydock in January 2023.
Its restaurants, entertainment, and bars provide a variety of dining, entertainment, and enrichment options for guests. The Exploration’s Café provides travel resources and enrichment opportunities.
Billboard Onboard presents shows composed of facts and figures about the music industry, while Lincoln Center Stage hosts a chamber music ensemble on a nightly basis.
There is a large dining array on board the ship, including the Pinnacle Grill steakhouse and the Italian Canaletto Restaurant, which are both Holland America Line signature establishments.
