MSC Cruises is rolling out new services and activities for its children and family program in the upcoming 2024 summer season, as detailed in a recent press release.
This year, the cruise line is introducing a childcare service for infants as young as six months, in partnership with Chicco. This marks the first time the service has been available to children under one year old.
The season will also see the launch of two new family-oriented game shows. “World Quest” will challenge participants with geography trivia, while “Caravaggio” is an art-themed spy game.
Additionally, club hours for teens (from ages 12 to 17) will be expanded on sea days to 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to midnight, and from 3 pm to midnight on days the ship is docked.
Parents looking to join in on the fun can reserve times to visit kids’ clubs with their children. The cruise also offers opportunities for large family gatherings with special events during the voyage.
Steve Leatham, global head of entertainment at MSC Cruises, emphasized the company’s commitment to family-oriented experiences. “As a father of three boys, I know first-hand the incredible job our youth team does on board, not only in entertaining children and families but also in creating moments that can’t be replicated anywhere else,” he stated.
Matteo Mancini, corporate senior manager of kid’s entertainment, added that they host over 600,000 children and teenagers across their entire fleet annually. They strive to ensure that each one disembarks, having had the best experience possible. He emphasized the importance of continually listening to feedback and following entertainment trends, “Music, game shows, digital innovation and trained youth staff are the pillars we turned into reality.”
Onboard Guinness World Record activities are available on various MSC ships, including MSC World Europa and MSC Grandiosa, providing families with a quiz show to win prizes.
Additionally, through partnerships with the MSC Foundation, children can engage in daily activities focused on sustainability, enhancing their awareness and education on environmental issues.
