Approximately 4,000 passengers boarded the MSC Virtuosa at Greenock Ocean Terminal on June 5.
A Northern Europe voyage is currently underway aboard the MSC Virtuosa. Four thousand two hundred and eighty-eight passengers left Greenock on Monday evening for Isafjord, Iceland.
First-ever “double turnaround” at the port was also achieved by Le Champlain that same day.
The MSC Virtuosa and Le Champlain are among the most eye-catching ships in the world, says Peel Ports’ Clydeport Port Director Jim McSporran.
I’m delighted to be welcoming so many people to the terminal today, coming on the heels of announcing we hosted a record number of cruise ships in one season.
Guests arriving today will enjoy their visit to Scotland – and we hope it’s going to be a great year.
“Greenock and Inverclyde are growing as a premier cruise destination thanks to our work with Peel Ports and our other partners,” said councillor Stephen McCabe.
This includes the opening of a new visitor center soon to complement the existing cruise ship berth.
Inverclyde already has a reputation for being one of the friendliest and most picturesque ports in the world, and the new visitor centre will only enhance that further for not only the 100,000 overseas visitors, but also for those thousands who come here to discover the best of Inverclyde.
