Alaska Program Cancelled by Norwegian in 2024

As part of Norwegian Cruise Line’s 2024 Alaska summer program for the Norwegian Spirit, a large portion of the program will be canceled.

It was announced today that all sailings previously scheduled to depart between July 3, 2024 and September 18, 2024 will no longer take place.

According to Norwegian Cruise Line, the cancellations were caused by a “full ship charter.”

A statement from the company stated, “We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”.

There will be a full refund of the fare paid to the form of payment provided at the time of reservation for affected guests.

Norwegian Cruise Line will re-apply 100 percent of Future Cruise Credits (FCCs) used for previously issued reservations to the guests’ Latitudes accounts.

‘To thank you for your loyalty, we have offered a 50 percent discount on select sailings to Alaska this summer departing from Seward, Alaska or Vancouver, Canada,’ the company said.

The benefit can be used on Norwegian Jewel and Norwegian Spirit itineraries departing between May and September 2023.

A 10 percent discount will also be offered to guests in the form of an FCC for upcoming voyages starting May 22, 2023.

The Alaska FCC cannot be combined with the FCC for published sailings through December 31, 2024.

The Norwegian Spirit was scheduled to offer an open-jaw itinerary in Alaska during the cancellation period after spending the spring in the Pacific.

These seven-night cruises visited Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Valdez, and Hubbard Glacier between Vancouver and Seward.

The Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Jewel and Norwegian Sun will go to Alaska in summer 2024, according to published deployments.
