Norwegian Cruise Line Expands its Military Appreciation Program

By Cruise Booking Team

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the expansion of its Military Appreciation Program to now include active Canadian service members, veterans, and their dependents from the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy, Royal Canadian Air Force, and Canadian Coast Guard, as stated in a press release.

Effective immediately, eligible Canadian armed forces members will benefit from special onboard experiences, amenities, and a 10* percent discount on cruise fares for all sailings across the NCL fleet.

David J. Herrera, the president of Norwegian Cruise Line, expressed that the NCL family is dedicated to supporting the military community and that expanding the benefits of the Military Appreciation Program to Canadian allies is an honor. He added, “It is a privilege to welcome men and women who have bravely served their countries, along with their families, onboard our ships.”

Derek Lloyd, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Canada-based vice president of sales for North America, further highlighted that the expansion of the program reflects the organization’s commitment to supporting military service members. He noted, “Fostering a sense of community and providing military members with a welcoming environment to relax with family and friends is an honor for Norwegian Cruise Line.”

The Military Appreciation Program, initially launched in November 2022, offers a 10 percent discount on cruise fares for active U.S. service members, veterans, and retired military personnel, as well as their spouses. In addition to the discount, military guests receive special onboard amenities and experiences, including a welcome reception and packet.

Service members can verify their eligibility through ID.me, a secure network that enables one-time verification, streamlining the booking process for eligible U.S. and Canadian armed forces members.
