Norwegian Getaway Kicks Off Summer Program in the Mediterranean

By Cruise Booking Team

Today, Norwegian Cruise Line launches its summer program in Europe on the Norwegian Getaway, completing the line’s lineup for 2023.

The 2014-built vessel will offer itineraries departing from different ports throughout the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.

Lisbon, in Portugal, is the departure port for the first cruise of the season, sailing to Civitavecchia near Rome, Italy’s capital city.

In addition to visiting Málaga, Ibiza, Barcelona, Villefranche and Livorno, the itinerary includes seven other locations in Spain, France and Italy.

This summer, the ship will continue its season with a voyage to the Eastern Mediterranean on June 24. On this nine-night cruise, the ship visits Italy, Sicily, Greek and Croatia ports on its way from Civitavecchia to Italy’s Trieste.

A Norwegian Getaway itinerary will also be offered in Northern and Western Europe from late July through October.

As an example, the 4,000-passenger ship will offer a 16-night cruise to Iceland and the British Islands on September 15.

Besides visiting France’s Le Havre, Germany’s Hamburg, and Belgium’s Zeebrugge, the itinerary also visits destinations in Western Europe.

On November 4, the Getaway will return to North America following additional itineraries in the region. The ship arrives in New York City on that day after a 13-night transatlantic crossing.
As of 2023, Norwegian Cruise Line will operate eight ships in Europe, along with the Norwegian Getaway.

Norwegian Prima, built in 2022, and Norwegian Viva, built in 2023, are included in the local program running until December.

Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Star, Norwegian Jade, and Norwegian Gem are the other vessels sailing in Europe this year.
