Norwegian Prima has completed its first year of service.
Norwegian Cruise Line received the vessel on July 29, 2022, from the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy.
After sailing to Iceland for christening, the 142,500-ton vessel arrived in Reykjavik for a massive ceremony.
Prima was godmothered by Katy Perry, who performed at the event attended by more than 2,500 guests.
In September 3, the vessel set sail for its first commercial voyage following an invitation-only inaugural cruise. In addition to visiting ports in Northern Europe, the cruise sailed from Amsterdam to Copenhagen for ten nights.
During most of the winter season, the Norwegian Prima was homeported in Port Canaveral, where it offered cruises from New York City, Miami, Galveston, and Galveston.
A series of nine- to ten-night itineraries to France, Italy, and Spain are planned for the ship later this year, after sailing in Northern Europe again.
Galveston is the departure port for the Prima’s winter season in North America in December. From late March through late April, the program features seven-night cruises to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Harvest Caye, and Roatán in the Western Caribbean.
As the first member of the Prima Class, Norwegian Prima can accommodate up to 3,215 guests in double occupancy.
As per Norwegian, the vessel will offer different features and upgraded amenities to enhance the guest experience.
This includes the world’s largest go-kart track at sea, Prima Speedway, and Indulge, an upscale food hall with a variety of cuisines and experiences.
