Norwegian Cruise Line announced in a statement to customers that the Norwegian Star will sail in the Caribbean during the winter season of 2025-26.
Initially intended to sail throughout South America and Antarctica, the ship’s entire season’s itinerary was canceled earlier this week.
“The Norwegian Star will be redeployed and will soon offer exciting trans-Atlantic voyages sailing across the Atlantic Ocean to explore historic and diverse destinations, as well as itineraries to the Bahamas and Southern Caribbean,” according to Norwegian Cruise Line.
According to the business, the new deployment provides “an ideal combination of cultural discovery and tropical island adventures.”
According to the statement, the ship’s new itineraries, which depart from an unidentified homeport, will be available for booking beginning November 29, 2024.
Earlier this week, Norwegian canceled all cruises departing on the Norwegian Star between November 20, 2025, and April 14, 2026.
Returning to the region for the fourth season in a row, the ship was scheduled to conduct South American cruises at that time.
The deployment comprised 14 to 17-night cruises departing from Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires and picturesque tours of Antarctica.
The Norwegian Star was slated to offer cruises in Europe during the summers of 2025 and 2026, as well as transatlantic crossings to and from South America.
The Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Dawn, and Norwegian Jade have also had the majority of their 2025-26 winter season canceled.
The ships were supposed to offer itineraries throughout Africa, the Indian Ocean, the Caribbean, and Central America.
Norwegian said affected guests will receive full refunds and a 10% discount on a new booking in the form of a Future Cruise Credit (FCC). The credit can be applied to any of Norwegian’s published sailings through December 31, 2026.
