On its maiden voyage from Venice (Trieste), Italy, Norwegian Cruise Line welcomed its first guests aboard its newest ship, the Norwegian Viva.
A nine-day Mediterranean journey took guests from Venice (Trieste), Italy to Lisbon, Portugal, with stops in Salerno, Cannes along France’s Cote d’Azur, and Ibiza.
Before heading to San Juan, Puerto Rico for a Caribbean season in December, the ship will sail Greek Isles and Mediterranean voyages through November 2023.
As part of our newest vessel, Norwegian Viva, passengers will be able to explore Europe this summer with its spacious design, elevated experiences, extensive culinary offerings, and legendary Norwegian Cruise Line hospitality provided by the best crew in the industry. David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line, said. During Norwegian Viva’s inaugural season, guests will cruise to some the liveliest cities in Europe and the Caribbean, and I have no doubt they will do just that.”
Prior to its official christening ceremony in Miami on Nov. 28, 2023, the second ship of the Prima Class will sail a series of Mediterranean and Greek Isle itineraries.
It will be named by Luis Fonsi, godfather of the Norwegian VIva, along with Paulina Rubio, “Saturday Night Live” cast member Marcello Hernandez and Pedro Capó, singer.
From December 2023 until March 2024, the ship will operate Caribbean voyages from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Guests on the Caribbean sailings can explore Tortola in the British Virgin Islands; St. John’s in Antigua; Bridgetown in Barbados; Castries in St. Lucia; Philipsburg in St. Maarten; and St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands.
Its Mediterranean itinerary will resume in May 2024 when the Norwegian Viva returns to Europe.
