Oceania Cruises has announced a change to the itinerary of a trans-Atlantic crossing scheduled on the Sirena for April 22, 2025. In a letter sent to guests who have already booked, the company stated that the repositioning cruise will now depart from a different port and visit alternative destinations.
“As a result of scheduling changes, your April 22, 2025 voyage will now depart from Miami,” instead of its originally planned departure from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The cruise, which is set to conclude in Barcelona, Spain, will span 14 nights.
The revised itinerary includes stops at the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda, known for its distinctive pink-sand beaches and turquoise waters, and the Azores, an archipelago located in the mid-Atlantic. These destinations replace the previously planned stops in Gustavia, St. Barts, and St. John’s, Antigua.
Additionally, the updated journey will feature an extra day at sea and omit a scheduled visit to Tangier, Morocco. However, the planned visits to Alicante and Motril in Spain, as well as Funchal in Portugal, remain unchanged.
As a gesture of appreciation for guests affected by these changes, Oceania Cruises is offering a $200 shipboard credit per suite or stateroom, which will be automatically applied to onboard accounts for use on various services and products.
For passengers who booked their air travel through Oceania, the company said, “If you made independent air arrangements, Oceania Cruises will reimburse up to $300 per guest for airfare change fees and/or fare differentials,” provided they submit receipts and official airline documentation, Oceania added.
The statement also mentioned that any pre-booked excursions for the canceled ports will be fully refunded to the original method of payment.
