Oceania Cruises is set to introduce a selection of new winter sailings to the Caribbean and Panama Canal in early 2026, departing from Tampa, according to a recent press release.
In March 2026, the 670-guest Insignia will make history as the first ultra-premium cruise ship to sail from Port Tampa Bay, the company announced.
Oceania’s new itineraries will range from seven to 20 nights, featuring destinations such as St. Thomas, St. Kitts, and Tortola in the Caribbean; Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Belize City; plus a daytime transit of the Panama Canal and an overnight stay in Panama City.
Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises, expressed enthusiasm about the new routes, stating, “Port Tampa Bay marks an exciting new chapter for us as Oceania Cruises becomes the first ultra-premium cruise line to offer dedicated voyages from Tampa. This new gateway provides convenient access to Florida’s west coast and the Gulf of Mexico, aligning well with the cosmopolitan vibe of our hometown, Miami.”
Paul Anderson, President and CEO of Port Tampa Bay, welcomed the news, saying, “We are excited to host Oceania Cruises at Port Tampa Bay. The arrival of the Insignia is a significant milestone that will elevate Tampa’s status as a leading cruise destination. We look forward to the boost in tourism and the resulting economic benefits for our region, workers, and local businesses.”
