New Signature Seafood Restaurant Unveiled by Princess

By Cruise Booking Team

According to a press release, Princess Cruises has opened a new seafood restaurant, The Catch by Rudi, in partnership with Culinary Icon Chef Rudi Sodamin.

The Catch by Rudi, the first Princess restaurant centered around seafood, will debut on the Enchanted Princess when she emerges from drydock on April 15, and will soon be on three more of the line’s newest ships. A unique spin on seafood is offered by the chef, who combines contemporary interpretations of classic dishes with international fusion influences, creative presentation, and an engaging dining experience, according to the company.

“Chef Rudi is one of the world’s leading cruise culinary artists and has worked with Princess Cruises, Cunard Line, Holland America Line, Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and Norwegian American Cruise Line for the past four decades,” said John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises. With Rudi’s creativity, passion, and leadership, The Catch will deliver exceptional experiences that take guests’ preferences and tastes into consideration, making it another “must-do.”

Rudi’s new restaurant, The Catch by Rudi, replaces Bistro Sur la Mer and is sure to make a splash with its seafood-centric menu.

It’s clear to guests the moment they pick up their menus that they’re in for something new and different. Headings such as “Beauty on the Plate” and “Tower of Taste” indicate that this is a unique restaurant experience. Mixologist Rob Floyd greets guests at their table with a special cocktail.

Featuring fresh, sustainably sourced seafood from local ports of call, The Daily Catch restaurant is just $39 per person as part of the Princess Premier premium add-on package.

In addition to traditional seafood dishes such as Asian-fried calamari, this new specialty dining location features modern twists on comforting seafood classics like lobster with garlic butter crust and stunningly presented signature seafood inventions from the chef’s personal repertoire, such as the towering trio and the whole dover sole.

Fresh lobster tail, shrimp, oysters, and mussels are just a few of the foods on the Seafood Trolly, piled high with other sea-born bounty.

Among the great things about the new restaurant, Princess said in a press release, is that it offers an experience like no other, including classic dishes that delight as if they were experienced for the first time. In order to achieve that, guests dining onboard will be served meals that are completely unique.

In The Catch by Rudi, Sodamin combines my love for food, seafood, and people with my incredible culinary journeys at sea and my lifelong experience of cooking seafood worldwide. Besides introducing people to a new way to enjoy seafood, I want them to see the world in a new light as well. We are trying to capture that precious moment known as ‘now’ with The Catch in such an unexpected and memorable way that you will say “wow!”

There are a number of seafood dishes to choose from on the Catch by Rudi menu, as well as vegetarian options, and signature beef classics like steak frites.

Guests aboard Princess Cruises can expect a truly unique dining experience at The Catch by Rudi, said Sami Kohen, vice president of food and beverage. In addition to the meal’s many surprises, there will be unparalleled desserts that are as delicious as they are fanciful, and an after-dinner gift.

There is a new restaurant on Enchanted Princess, The Catch by Rudi, located across from the guest services desk on Deck 5, as Sabatini’s relocates to Deck 7, where Bistro Sur la Mer used to be.
There will be new restaurant concepts added to several Princess ships this summer, including Majestic Princess (May 5) sailing to Alaska, Sky Princess (May 7) sailing to Scandinavia and the Baltic, as well as Discovery Princess (May 8).
